Popular for the expressions such as “gwarsh,” and “a-hyuck,” our beloved Goofy has stamped his way to our hearts. A kind-hearted fellow, Goofy doesn’t really goof around in his scenes. He is just plain clumsy that’s why he gets into several accidents on his own doings. He actually debuted in one of Mickey’s cartoons (Mickey’s Revue in 1932) as a part of the audience. Goofy’s distinctive laugh was quickly noticed by Walt Disney and decided to make him one of the guest stars in some of his newspaper comic strips. He was named Dippy Dawg at first, then it was changed into Dippy the Goof, and finally into the widely known Goofy.

Goofy’s antics gave him some starring roles in some of Mickey and Friend’s cartoons and finally had a big break with his very first feature cartoon “Goofy and Wilbur.” Shortly after that, Goofy became a well-known face in the “How To” cartoons made by Walt Disney. Goofy exactly tries to do what the narrator of the cartoon says but somehow his clumsiness sends him into injuries and such misfortunes.
