Donald Fauntleroy Duck’s first feature short was on June 9, 1934 in Walt Disney’s Silly Symphony series which was entitled “The Wise Little Hen.” He became a huge hit with the audience because of his unusual temper and silliness. He always tried his very best to do what is good but somehow unfortunate mischief always finds its way to Donald.

Gifted with a voice we can’t seem to get enough of, we always find Donald’s character to be lovable. His unique costume, a sailor shirt and hat, with no pants whatsoever, became his official trademark. In the 1940’s, Donald has been mainly featured in more cartoons than Mickey Mouse because his comedic presence is adored by many. He always tries to prove that he is as good as Mickey Mouse but to no avail, he can’t seem to surpass Mickey’s greatness. Donald’s character gave birth to some of the most popular characters to date such as Daisy Duck, his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck, and the many characters of Duck Tales who are all his relatives.
